FLYING AND GLIDING

The Air Cadets have three types of aircraft available to them for flying training.  The Tutor, The Vigilant and The Viking.

Flying is one of our main aims and the ACO is the largest gliding organisation in the United Kingdom.  We have a fleet of light aircraft shared with the University Air Squadrons to provide flying experience and training at all levels.

POWERED FLYING

The Grob Tutor is our aircraft of choice, it is a Single engined low-winged monoplane, with side by side seating and full duel controls.  Fancy some aerobatics or a navigation exercise?

GLIDING

The Grob Vigilant is a powered glider  with side by side seating and full dual controls.

The Grob Viking is a classic winch-launched glider, with tandem seating and full dual controls.

OPPORTUNITY FLIGHTS

Opportunity flights sometimes come up, and they enable the cadet to experience a flight on one of the RAF's fleet.....
